Jim Coleman and Dave Butler have been partners since 2004 with almost 80 years of collective experience in marine engines. Supported by a staff of certified technicians Coleman Marine Diesel, Inc take pride in workmanship that is only surpassed by your pride in ownership.
Jim Coleman started Coleman Marine Diesel after an extensive career in repairing engines. From 1974 to 1980, Jim worked extensively with diesel engines & chassis repair on automotive and highway vehicles. In 1980 Jim worked as technician for the Southern California Cummins Distributor. In 1983 he left the Cummins Distributor & started Coleman Marine Diesel. Jim personally attended as well as completed all certification training and has done so over the years for all dealership brands that we represent.
Dave Butler joined the New Zealand Cummins Distributor in 1968 as a technician before transferring to Los Angeles in 1980 to join the Southern California Cummins Distributor. He held various positions from Service Administrator, Service & Branch Management, Cummins Marine Application Engineering & Distributor Field Service Engineering for 22 years before joining Coleman Marine Diesel, Inc as a partner.
